Plateau United and Rangers International have booked their places in the final of the 2026 NPFL Super Six Invitational Pre-Season Tournament after contrasting semi-final victories at the New Jos Stadium on Saturday.
Rangers secured a 2-0 victory over Mighty Jets in the first semi-final, while Plateau United edged Katsina United 5-4 on penalties after a 1-1 draw in the second game.
Rangers International 2-0 Mighty Jets
Rangers International made a fast start, taking the lead in the fifth minute through Justice Akugre.
Mighty Jets grew into the contest as the game progressed and created opportunities to level, but Rangers goalkeeper Lateef Ishola produced important saves to preserve his side’s advantage.
Mighty Jets increased the pressure in the second half, with Musa Muhammad seeing a powerful effort saved, but Rangers remained dangerous on the counter.
The Enugu side eventually sealed their place in the final in the 87th minute when Korode Abolade produced a brilliant individual effort, dribbling past three defenders and rounding the goalkeeper before finishing to make it 2-0.
Rangers will now face Plateau United in Sunday’s final.
Katsina United 1-1 Plateau United (4-5 on penalties)
The second semi-final produced a much tighter contest as Katsina United and Plateau United battled for a place in the final.
Katsina United took the lead in the 21st minute through Abdurrahaman Garba, who finished brilliantly to put his side ahead.
Plateau United responded before half-time, with Seiyefa Jackson getting on the end of a cross to level the scores in the 43rd minute.
Neither side could find a winner after the break despite several chances, sending the contest into a penalty shootout.
Plateau United goalkeeper George Michael proved decisive, producing a crucial save during the shootout as Plateau United prevailed 5-4 on penalties to book their place in the final.
The result sets up an all-Plateau versus Enugu final, with Plateau United facing Rangers International for the tournament title.

Third Place: Mighty Jets FC vs Katsina United — 1:30pm
Final: Plateau United vs Rangers International — 4:00pm
Both matches will take place at the New Jos Stadium on Sunday.
