Plateau State Governor, His Excellency, Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, Esq., has charged newly appointed Special Adviser and Honorary Special Advisers to justify the confidence reposed in them by contributing meaningfully to governance, strengthening public confidence and delivering tangible results for the people of the state.

The Governor gave the charge on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, during the swearing-in ceremony of the appointees at Victoria Gowon Hall, New Government House, Little Rayfield, Jos. He emphasised that public office demands integrity, discipline, accountability, and an unwavering commitment to the collective interest of Plateau State.

“From the outset, our administration has been guided by a clear conviction: the mandate freely entrusted to us by the people of Plateau State is not a privilege to be enjoyed, but a solemn responsibility to be discharged with integrity, humility, sincerity and measurable results,” Governor Mutfwang declared.

He explained that the appointments were intended to strengthen the state’s governance structure, broaden consultation, enhance policy formulation and implementation, and bring additional expertise into government.

He reminded the appointees that their appointments were not merely recognitions of personal achievements but calls to greater responsibility, sacrifice, loyalty and accountability to the people of Plateau State.

Governor Mutfwang charged them to provide sound policy advice, identify practical solutions to emerging challenges and ensure that government decisions translated into measurable improvements in citizens’ lives.

“Your recommendations must be timely, evidence-based and guided by the overriding interest of Plateau State,” he said, urging them to demonstrate professionalism and the capacity to turn ideas into actionable proposals.

On teamwork and accountability, the Governor cautioned against personal interests and unnecessary rivalries, insisting that loyalty must be reflected in responsible service and commitment to the administration’s mandate.

“Our administration needs people who can offer honest advice, identify workable solutions and remain focused on the collective interest of the state,” he stressed.

Highlighting his administration’s priorities, Governor Mutfwang reaffirmed that peace and security remained paramount. He cited the reinvigoration of Operation Rainbow, strengthened community-based security efforts and the training of approximately 1,500 personnel.

He also highlighted investments in healthcare, education, agriculture, energy, water supply, sanitation, transportation and road infrastructure, noting that these interventions were intended to improve living standards, particularly in rural and underserved communities.

Acknowledging that more work remained, the Governor urged the appointees to remain accessible and responsive to citizens’ concerns, especially those of women, young people, farmers, entrepreneurs, and vulnerable populations.

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to rebuilding affected communities, strengthening peace and creating an environment where every citizen could live and prosper with dignity.

Governor Mutfwang also expressed deep sorrow over the fresh attack in Gyero village, Jos South Local Government Area, describing the incident as deeply troubling, particularly at a time when the government had made significant investments and intensified efforts to strengthen security and protect lives and property across the state.

He urged residents to remain vigilant and cooperate closely with security agencies by providing timely, credible, and actionable intelligence, including early warning signals, to facilitate swift intervention and prevent further attacks.

The Governor declared that “the Time Is Now” to deepen the commitment to peace, strengthen institutions, accelerate development and deliver purposeful leadership to every corner of Plateau State. He urged the appointees to translate the administration’s shared vision into visible progress for the people.

Speaking on behalf of the appointees, the Chairman of the Plateau State House of Assembly Service Commission, Rt. Hon. Titus Alams, expressed gratitude to the Governor for the confidence reposed in them, assuring him that they would not take the opportunity to serve for granted.

“Your Excellency, thank you for believing in us,” he said, adding that the appointees understand that their contribution to this administration would form part of the legacy of its tenure.

Alams also appreciated the state party chairman, the Secretary to the Government of the State, the Head of Service and the Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, as well as the spouses and families of the appointees, for their support.
