Plateau State Governor, Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has inspected the ongoing remodelling of the Rwang Pam Township Stadium, Plateau Hotel, and Hill Station Hotel in Jos, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to revitalising key state assets to drive economic growth, tourism, sports development, and investment.
During the inspection of the Rwang Pam Township Stadium, the Governor expressed satisfaction with the quality of work while directing contractors to accelerate construction to ensure the facility is completed ahead of the upcoming football season.
He said the upgraded stadium is being developed to meet international standards, providing a world-class venue for athletes, promoting grassroots sports, nurturing young talent, and positioning Plateau State to host national and international sporting events.

Governor Mutfwang noted that the stadium project forms part of his administration’s broader vision to restore Plateau State’s sporting heritage and establish the state as a leading destination for sports tourism and major competitions.
The Governor also visited the remodelling sites of the Plateau Hotel and Hill Station Hotel, where he commended investors and contractors for the progress made despite initial challenges.
He described the projects as successful examples of Public-Private Partnerships (PPP), noting that his administration remains committed to recovering and restoring Plateau State’s legacy assets.
Governor Mutfwang highlighted the historical significance of the Hill Station Hotel, describing it as one of Nigeria’s foremost hospitality destinations before its closure several years ago. He expressed optimism that ongoing reconstruction would restore the facility to its former status.
According to the Governor, partners handling the Plateau Hotel and Hill Station Hotel projects have assured the state government that the first phase of both developments will be completed by October 1, 2026.
He added that the revitalisation of the hotels would strengthen Plateau State’s tourism and hospitality sector, enhance its appeal for conferences, business, leisure, and investment, and contribute significantly to the state’s economic development.
“I am delighted with the progress so far. Plateau people are eagerly anticipating the completion of these projects. Interestingly, many people have reached out to me simply because they have seen the new perimeter fencing, which has already rekindled fond memories of these historic landmarks,” he said.

Governor Mutfwang emphasized that the restoration of the Plateau Hotel and Hill Station Hotel would stimulate economic activities, attract both local and international investments, create employment opportunities, and restore Plateau State’s reputation as Nigeria’s foremost destination for tourism, hospitality, conferences, and recreation.
He noted that the impressive progress on the projects sends a strong signal to investors that Plateau State is open for business and that his administration has deliberately created an enabling environment for businesses to thrive.

According to the Governor, the ongoing investments in strategic infrastructure demonstrate his administration’s determination to build a resilient economy anchored on private sector participation, sustainable development, and improved ease of doing business.
Governor Mutfwang also reaffirmed his administration’s resolve to confront the prevailing security challenges through strategic collaboration with security agencies and community stakeholders. He expressed confidence in the resilience of the Plateau people, assuring that the state would emerge stronger, safer, and more prosperous.
The Governor was received at both project sites by the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Plateau Investment and Property Development Company (PIPC), Hon. Danlami Jelka, who led the investors and contractors on the inspection tour and briefed the Governor on the progress of work.
