Pwajok Brothers’ Vision & Alex Gyang Davou’s Support Drive Success of 9th Annual Ghetto Inter-Fans Tournament

The vibrant community of Angwan Rukuba in Jos North LGC witnessed an electrifying display of grassroots football talent. The 9th edition of the Ghetto Inter-Fans Tournament drew to a spectacular close on Sunday, July 29th, 2025. The GSS Nasarawa Gwong football field buzzed with excitement. Passionate football enthusiasts packed the venue to celebrate the beautiful game at its most authentic level.

What began as a dream shared between two brothers has blossomed into a cornerstone of community pride. In 2016, Mr. Dalo Pwajok and Mr. Chollom Jacob Pwajok launched what would become known as the “Dalo & Cholly Ghetto Inter-Fans Five-Aside Football Tournament.” It was driven by a simple yet powerful vision: to harness the unifying power of football for community development.
Nearly a decade later, their initiative continues to serve as more than just a sporting event. The tournament has evolved into a vital platform that celebrates raw talent, provides opportunities for aspiring footballers to shine. It strengthens the bonds within the Nasarawa Gwong and Angwan Rukuba communities.

The 2025 edition marked a significant milestone with the generous sponsorship of Mr. Alex Gyang Davou and his associates. They demonstrated their commitment to youth development through substantial support. Their contribution included cash prizes recognizing excellence across multiple categories. Categories are Best Player, Best Goalkeeper, and Highest Goal Scorer, along with complete jersey sets for both finalist teams.
Mr. Davou is recognized as a dedicated grassroots youth developer and advocate for human capital development. He emphasized the tournament’s deeper significance during his goodwill address. He praised the remarkable turnout from the Nasarawa Gwong community. They also highlighted how their enthusiastic support for the young players exemplifies the unity and solidarity that makes grassroots sports so powerful.
