The Plateau State Government has commissioned a renovated and upgraded Rehabilitation Centre for the Physically Impaired in Jos, reaffirming its commitment to improving the welfare of persons with disabilities.
Representing the Executive Governor, the Commissioner for Women Affairs, Mrs. Caroline Panglang Dafur, officially unveiled the improved facility. The project was carried out under the Plateau State Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) initiative.
The commissioning ceremony attracted key stakeholders including the Executive Chairman of Jos North LGA, councillors, traditional and religious leaders, students of the centre, and members of the community.
During the event, the Governor toured the facility, interacted with students, and observed exhibitions of vocational skills and crafts made by the students purchasing some of the items to show support.
Government representatives noted that the upgrade is designed to expand access to rehabilitation services and improve skill acquisition opportunities for persons with disabilities.
This intervention aligns with the administration’s broader agenda to deepen social inclusion and ensure equal access to essential public services.
