The First Lady of Plateau State, Barrister Helen Mutfwang, has visited several communities affected by recent violence in Mangu, Bokkos, Riyom, and Bassa Local Government Areas, offering words of comfort and distributing relief materials to families affected by the attacks.

The visit, which took place on Monday, comes in the wake of a spate of attacks that have left many dead and hundreds displaced across the central Nigerian state.

Describing the attacks as a “tragic blow” to the affected communities, Mrs Mutfwang conveyed her condolences and urged residents to find strength in unity and faith.

“Our hearts are with you in this time of unimaginable pain. We stand with you, and we will work tirelessly to ensure you receive the support you need to rebuild,” she said.

Relief items, including bags of rice and other essentials, were handed over to displaced residents. The materials were donated by the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, as part of ongoing national efforts to support crisis-affected communities.

Residents and community leaders expressed appreciation for both the relief supplies and the show of solidarity from the state and federal governments.

“Thank you, Ma, for coming to us and for these items. Your presence gives us hope, please extend our appreciation to the President’s wife,” a community spokesperson said.

Local Government Chairmen were also present to receive the First Lady, describing the visit as a meaningful gesture of unity and support. They commended both Senator Tinubu and Governor Caleb Mutfwang’s administration for standing with the people in a time of crisis.

The visit underscores continuing humanitarian efforts across Plateau State amid calls for lasting peace and stronger protection for vulnerable communities.
