Plateau Christmas Carol Day Two: Governor Mutfwang Calls for Unity and the Breaking of Barriers

Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang has reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening unity, peaceful coexistence, and community development across Plateau State. Speaking with conviction, he expressed confidence that God will dismantle age-long divisions and inspire citizens to work together toward a stronger, more prosperous Plateau.

He made these remarks on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at the second day of the Plateau State Unity Christmas Carols and Praise Festival, held at the iconic Ten Commandments Prayer Arena, Doi, Jos South.

The governor welcomed guests, missionaries, and gospel ministers from across Nigeria, assuring them that his administration is working to elevate the festival into a globally recognized Christian gathering.

“I thank all of you for coming again tonight,” he said. “The essence of this gathering is to show that when we are united, great things happen. I believe better days are ahead. When our hearts are joined, we accomplish more to the glory of God. I trust that all partitions and differences will begin to collapse.”

He emphasized that unity beyond tribe, politics, or perceived differences remains essential to building a peaceful and progressive state. He commended the Church in Plateau for demonstrating the harmony needed to unite the entire state, urging citizens to prioritize shared values over divisive factors.

Governor Mutfwang appreciated international visitors for identifying with Plateau, praying that their labour of love would be rewarded. He also reiterated his passion for empowering young people, explaining that this inspired the introduction of a children’s Bible Quiz, which he intends to sustain to equip young minds spiritually and intellectually.

Former leaders, including Samuel Ortom, Gen. Lawrence Onoja (rtd), and Dame Pauline Tallen, paid glowing tribute to former Governor Jonah David Jang for conceiving the Ten Commandments project. They also commended Governor Mutfwang for maximizing the landmark’s potential for worship, fellowship, and unity.

They praised the Plateau State Unity Christmas Carols and Praise Festival as a unifying innovation capable of restoring the state’s lost glory and positioning it on the global tourism and spiritual map.
