Governor Mutfwang Reaffirms Commitment to Strengthening Plateau’s Legal Framework at Law Reforms Partners Assembly

Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang, has reiterated his administration’s strong commitment to reforming existing laws and fortifying the state’s legal framework in close partnership with the Office of the State Attorney General.

He emphasized that these reforms will not only enhance governance but also unlock new opportunities in tourism, economic development, security, and the advancement of Plateau’s mineral resources complementing federal government efforts.

Governor Mutfwang made these remarks while officially opening a three-day capacity-building workshop for members of the Plateau State House of Assembly, held at Miango Rest Home in Bassa Local Government Area.

The workshop, themed “Improving Service Delivery through Effective and Complementary Legislative Interventions,” aims to equip lawmakers with the skills, insights, and technical expertise needed to carry out impactful, people-centered legislation.

Stressing the importance of continuous training, the Governor urged lawmakers to stay updated with modern legislative practices to improve their effectiveness in service delivery.

He praised the cooperative and productive relationship between his administration and the 10th Assembly, noting that this synergy is vital for delivering tangible benefits to the people of Plateau State.

Governor Mutfwang encouraged participants to seize the workshop as a valuable opportunity to sharpen their legislative skills, broaden their perspectives, and adopt innovative governance approaches.

In his remarks, Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Naanlong Daniel Gapyil, expressed gratitude to the Governor for his unwavering support and collaboration with the legislature.

The Speaker assured that the House is ready to work hand-in-hand with the Executive in all areas requiring legislative input, underscoring that this partnership will help realize the Governor’s vision and genuine dedication to serving Plateau.

Welcoming members to the workshop, Speaker Naanlong described it as a critical platform for interaction, idea exchange, and addressing the opportunities and challenges ahead.

Former Senate Minority Leader, Senator Simon Mwamkwon, in his goodwill message, commended the initiative and reminded lawmakers of their essential role as partners in Plateau’s growth and development.

Senator Mwamkwon encouraged them to maintain a spirit of cooperation with the Executive for the overall welfare of the people.
