In furtherance of Plateau State’s commitment to strengthening sub-national international engagements and aligning with the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda, the Executive Governor of Plateau State, His Excellency Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has arrived in the United States on a strategic mission focused on economic development, investment, and bilateral trade.
The visit is designed to facilitate high-level engagements with key American institutions, including the United States Development Finance Corporation (DFC), the United States Export-Import Bank (EXIM), senior officials of the U.S. Department of State, as well as other policy and investment stakeholders. These engagements aim to explore trade, investment, and development opportunities that will drive sustainable growth in Plateau State and contribute to Nigeria’s broader economic objectives.
As part of his initial engagements, Governor Mutfwang held a meeting with U.S. Congressman Riley Moore, where discussions centred on strengthening the expanding partnership between Nigeria and the United States, with particular emphasis on economic cooperation, investment, security, and democratic governance.
During the meeting, Governor Mutfwang highlighted the Renewed Hope Agenda of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, which places priority on the welfare, security, and prosperity of Nigerians. He also noted the significant progress being made in addressing insecurity across the country, attributing the gains to the President’s decisive leadership and sustained commitment to national security.
Congressman Riley Moore commended Governor Mutfwang for the visit and expressed keen interest in deepening U.S. Nigeria relations. He reaffirmed his commitment to working closely with the Nigerian Government to advance a comprehensive and mutually beneficial partnership between both countries.
Governor Mutfwang expressed appreciation to Congressman Moore and the Government of the United States for their continued support and collaboration, while reaffirming Plateau State’s readiness to strengthen cooperation in the areas of investment, development, security, and people-to-people relations.
