Plateau State Showcases Economic Strength at the Made in Plateau Carnival 2025

Plateau State is shining brighter than ever as the Made in Plateau Carnival opens with remarkable energy and promise. The Honourable Commissioner for Information and Communication, Rt. Hon. Joyce Ramnap, described the event as an inspiring showcase of the state’s economic strength and boundless potential.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, she expressed deep appreciation to His Excellency, Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, for his visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to revitalizing the state’s economy.

Organized by the Plateau State Microfinance Development Agency (PLASMIDA) in collaboration with SMEDAN, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, PS-OSIC, GIZ-SEDIN, and other key partners, the carnival brought together entrepreneurs, investors, innovators, financial institutions, regulators, and industry giants at the historic Solomon Lar Amusement Park.

In her goodwill message, Hon. Ramnap emphasized the need to uplift local businesses, stating:

“We are in an era of complementing businesses. We will continue to partner with and support indigenous enterprises because Governor Mutfwang has a clear vision for economic rebirth and sustainable development in Plateau State.”

She encouraged participants to fully explore the opportunities the carnival offers, adding:

“Let us strengthen our commitment to local production, empower our SMEs, and together drive the economic transformation of the Plateau.”

Representing Governor Mutfwang, the Secretary to the Government of Plateau State, Arc. Samuel Nanchang Jatau, reaffirmed the “Time Is Now” administration’s steadfast dedication to nurturing innovation, enterprise growth, and creativity across the state.

The Made in Plateau Carnival celebrates the state’s cultural richness and dynamic economic ecosystem. Exhibitors from across the region proudly displayed a wide range of locally made products from exquisite handicrafts to premium agricultural goods highlighting the ingenuity, craftsmanship, and resilience of the Plateau people.

With the carnival already recording impressive success, it continues to serve as a vibrant platform for businesses to network, collaborate, exchange ideas, and expand.
