Plateau United Back to Winning Ways with 2–0 Triumph Over Barau FC

Plateau United returned to winning ways with a convincing 2–0 victory over Barau FC at the Jos New Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The Peace Boys started strongly, dictating possession but struggled to break down a well-organized Barau defence in the first half. Their best chance fell to Monday Gideon, whose header from a Kazeem Adeyanju corner narrowly missed the target. Both sides went into the break with the scores level.

After the restart, Plateau United upped their intensity. Head Coach Shola Adegun introduced Vincent Temitope and Mancha Sabbath for Mafeng Pam and Gideon Monday, injecting fresh attacking energy.

The breakthrough came just five minutes into the second half. Tarabina Biweribo’s long throw was flicked on by Jonathan Okechukwu, setting up Amietimi Enewarikpemi to calmly slot home the opener.

Five minutes later, Vincent Temitope doubled the lead with a brilliant curler into the top corner after a neat combination with Adeyanju.

Barau FC pushed late in the game, but goalkeeper Favour stood tall, producing a brilliant double save in the 85th minute to secure his third clean sheet of the season.

Plateau United saw out the match with composure to seal all three points.
