The Jos Metropolitan Development Board (JMDB) Market, popularly known as ATMN, located in Bukuru, Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State, has undergone a significant modernization, transforming it into a contemporary hub for trade and economic activity.
This redevelopment is a result of the visionary leadership of Governor Barr. Caleb Mutfwang and the strategic management of Arch. Hart Bankat, General Manager of JMDB. The upgraded market reflects a deliberate effort by the Plateau State Government to improve the trading environment and enhance the livelihood of traders and residents alike.

Key features of the newly modernized JMDB Market include:
• 149 Shops designed to provide organized and ample space for traders.
• 16 Warehouses offering secure and reliable storage for goods, essential for larger traders.
• 118 Stores catering to small-scale businesses, allowing flexibility in commercial activities.
• Clean and accessible toilet facilities promoting hygiene within the market.
• A general office serving as an administrative center to ensure effective market management.
• Open spaces for wheelbarrows to facilitate the smooth movement of goods within the market.
• Parking areas planned to reduce vehicular congestion and improve access.
• Designated hawker zones to accommodate small traders without disrupting the market flow.
• An on-site banking hall enabling convenient financial transactions.
• Additional amenities such as a kitchen and pharmacy to serve market users’ needs.

The market’s design and operational framework align with Executive Order 003, issued in March 2024, which emphasizes regulated construction, efficient traffic management, and sustainable urban development in Plateau State.

The JMDB Market modernization project underscores the state government’s commitment to creating a conducive and organized commercial environment. It is set to enhance economic activity, support traders, and contribute to the broader goals of urban renewal and economic growth within Plateau State.
