The Inter-Religious Youth Affairs for Peace and Unity, led by Ambassador Taofeeq Mohammed, has presented the prestigious Peace Ambassadorial Award to the Honourable Commissioner for Information and Communication, Rt. Hon. Joyce Lohya Ramnap, mni.

The award was conferred during a courtesy visit by the organization to the Plateau State Ministry of Information and Communication. The visit highlighted the Commissioner’s outstanding role in promoting the achievements of the “Time is Now” administration, particularly in the areas of peacebuilding, security, and socio-economic development.
In her remarks after receiving the award, Hon. Ramnap expressed appreciation for the group’s efforts in mobilizing young people as advocates for peace and interfaith harmony. She praised the initiative as a valuable complement to Governor Caleb Mutfwang’s vision for a united and peaceful Plateau State.

“Your commitment to fostering peace and unity among youths is truly inspiring,” Hon. Ramnap stated. “We value your dedication to nurturing a culture of tolerance and mutual respect, and we look forward to continued collaboration.”
She also highlighted the state’s proactive peacebuilding measures, notably the creation of the State Inter-Religious Council under the auspices of the Plateau State Peacebuilding Agency. This initiative has played a crucial role in promoting peaceful coexistence, encouraging citizens to overcome past grievances and embrace unity.

“We are proud of the progress we’ve made in fostering peace on the Plateau,” she added. “We will continue to work tirelessly to ensure that our state remains a symbol of hope and unity for all.”
Ambassador Taofeeq Mohammed, in response, expressed gratitude to the Commissioner for her warm reception and applauded Plateau State’s peacebuilding initiatives.
“We are privileged to honor Hon. Ramnap’s significant contributions to sustaining peace in Plateau State,” he said. “We look forward to deepening our partnership in the shared mission of promoting peace and harmony across the state.”
